The problem with your argument and that of the environmentalists is that it is not based on scientific fact. The wildlife that everyone is harping on about is likely already dead because of the feral cats that cough cough the farmers released into the Pilligia. Same farmers that have somehow been converted into environmentalists when their water source is potentially impacted. Same saline bore water they have been using on their fields resulting in desertification. Same farmers that go around shooting all the wildlife when it eats their crop or competes with their cattle and sheep. Oh it’s 30k hectares impacted wasn’t that forest once 1 Million hectares. Righto the farmers burnt that all down to grow crops and graze cattle and sheep. Call me cynical but I’m pretty sure sooner or later the Pilligia will all be burnt in a wild fire caused by global warming from the hundreds of years we’ve been burning coal. But let’s not change our ways and use cleaner more efficient natural gas let’s continue burning coal or killing millions of birds in wind farms or damming up rivers for hydro which kills off millions of hectares of pristine wildlife downstream by starving the rivers of water or better yet we will install hundreds of thousands of hectares of solar panels and burn coal at night.
