I just don't see how there could be a merger if one company is...

I just don't see how there could be a merger if one company is announcing an acquisition and CR (VIC) and the other is responding to an ASX Query letter? Although, I must say, if there was to be a merger.... the SP will not stay at this level for either company..... in fact, we could see a massive re-rate given the fact that both hold some potentially big prospects...... time will tell! I hold both VIC and HDY and would encourage a merger if this is on the card! GLTAH
