Lenie Lectura’s article list a number of power stations which are, as far as the DOE is concerned, committed power projects. It seems to me that the article does not list all power projects which are expected to come on-line but refers to a selected number of power stations only. I do not know the writer’s selection criteria, hence I cannot comment on why, for instance, EWC’s committed 600MW power station is not listed. In any case, if you look at the DOE own website and its most recent updated information (current as of 15 November, 2015) re: committed private sector initiated power projects for Luzon, you will find that EWC is listed as one of the three committed gas fired power projects.
Ilyas, please note that Pagbilao Energy Corp is not to be confused with EWC. Pagbilao Energy Corporation is operating a 760MW coal fired power station (commissioned in 1996) and is listed as having committed to expanding its facility by 420MW by November, 2017.
