MTC DENIES USE OF AQUATIC AREA STOPS
HARBOR TERMINAL IN ICA TO APURÍMAC FERRUM
ANDEAN. - The Ministry of Transports and Comunicaciones (MTC) denied to the company Apurímac Ferrum the use of the aquatic area and coastal strip because the asked for area is located in the considered zone as scope of application of a program for pilot the recovery of aquatic ecosystems and sustainable use of its biodiversity.

In September of the year past Apurímac Ferrum it asked for to Autoridad Portuaria Nacional (APN) a temporary authorization of use of aquatic area and coastal strip located in the cove Three Brothers, in Is born (Ica).

The company has predicted to develop the mining project that it includes/understands a series of mining facilities, processing, transport and boarding of iron extracted from the province of Andahuaylas to the Peruvian coast.

For this reason, Apurímac Ferrum needs a harbor terminal in Ica to export the mineral that will produce in Andahuaylas.

Nevertheless, the realised information have determined that the area asked for by this company is superposed to the destined one by the Ministry of the Production for programs of bivalve molluscs that has been asked for by the Fishing Technological Institute of Peru (ITP).
