You describe the gifting of free shares to the Board of Directors as "selfish at best", I think my views are somewhat stronger and the term REPREHENSIBLE seems more or less applicable.
IMO, Perhaps the Board had it right last time when they offered the COO and former CFO Ross Laidlaw Performance Rights based on the performance of Domacom achieving a Share Price of $1.00 and Funds under Management of $100million, refer:
All of this seems to have gone out the window with the collapse of the share price and next to no growth of funds under management. So it seems we disregard the current performance and reward anyway.
As to why the CEO's Wife Kathryn Naoumidis, Head of Social Media Strategegy at Domacom for the last 5 years has been singled out to be awarded 75,467 free shares is not apparently explained in any material provided by the Company. It seems that besides her Husband - CEO Arthur Naoumidis and COO Ross Laidlaw, no other employee of Domacom has been singled out for a performance reward at this time.
Hopefully Arthur or more particularly the Chairman Grahame Evans ( who is also up for a free gong of 157,000 of free shares) can shed some light on all this and more at the AGM.
