Marakai In researching the leads you left on the “Oversubscribed $10 Million Placement”
thread, post 447, I stumbled upon the details of how Compass Gold sold to
African Mining.
At the time our Exploration Manager DR Madani Diallo was the main man with
Compass for years and actually drilled and explored some of the tenements we
now have, (that Compass then owned.) In section 10 of “A TECHNICAL REVEW OF THE YANFOLLA GOLD CONCESSON, MAL, WEST AFRCA FOR COMPASS GOLD CORPORATON “ there is a whole
paragraph explaining the first sampling of Solona, and how the local geological
business W.G M. said....WGM considers the Solona Gold Showing to be the primary gold exploration target on the concession.
Back to present day; “RC drilling within the Yanfolila Project with results expected in late April”. These assays 2 weeks overdue are from Solona.
On with some snippets;
“9 July, 2009, forty-two soil samples were collected from over the Solona Gold Showing.
Three samples returned over 1.0 g Au/t; the best sample returning 1.74 g Au/t which is very high for a soil value.”
Section 10 details the theory on where the gold came from and where it might
have deposited. Any budding geos will roll on their backs in these details.
If they ever produce these assay results for Solona, and they are good results,
I will have my nose back in here fossicking through the report.
