The case of PT South Sulawesi LNG is SP3, Police: Has aCertificate of Right to Build

Bisnis.com ,JAKARTA - Directorate of Certain Criminal Acts (Directorate of Tipiter)Bareskrim National Police Headquarters issued an Order for Termination ofInvestigation (SP3) related to mining cases in protected forest areas reachingan area of 21.17 hectares.

This case originated because PT South Sulawesi LNG was prepared tomanage natural gas refinery assets looking for from the Sengkang Block, whichis located in a protected forest area.

Brigadier General Muhammad Fadil Imran, Director of SpecificCriminal Criminal Investigation at the National Police Headquarters, assessedthe reason that the Criminal Investigation Agency issued the SP3 the companyalready had a valid Building Use Certificate (SHGB) from the Wajo DistrictState Land Agency (BPN), which until now has not been canceled.

"It is true that we are handling mining in the forest area.We have also stopped the investigation (investigation) because they have avalid SHGB from the Wajo District BPN which has not been revoked orcanceled," he told Bisnis onMonday (10/15/2018 )

As is known, in early September 2018, the Ministry of Energy andMineral Resources (ESDM) decided to extend the management of the Sengkang Blockby existing operators of EnergyEquity Epic Pty Ltd for 20 years, after the contract expired in 2022.

The physical construction of the LNG plant facilities as well assupporting facilities began in 2011, but the relevant authority has beenstopped because of the crucial licensing problem, namely the use of mangroveprotected forests in Wajo.

The location of the LNG plant construction is in the protectedforest area with an area reaching 21.17 hectare according to the Minister ofForestry Decree Number 343 / Menhut-II / 2009.
