I'm sure they will get a discount but I'd be surprised if it is less than $100/tonne. Remember the gov are spending our money, that's why these projects cost so much.
A few weeks back I was on a job where they spent around $40 000 removing 4 sheets of asbestos cement sheeting from a deserted island in the Torres Strait. Job only took half a day but had to air lift it out by helicopter. Money is no problem when it comes to government projects. Might be why we pay so much tax!
