Pmsl if it does get dumped at sea.
The stuff is coming out of a salty environment, from what was once an old seabed.
The EPA disposal guidelines do say 'under water that cannot leach contaminants into the surrounding water table'.. So you tell me, how do you propose to prevent contaminants from Pass in the Nag pools from leaching into the local aquifers when the water table is only a few tens of metres under the surface just to the East of Nagambie?
There are numerous examples of coastal dredging activities that still dump spoil off the coast in 2019.
Will be an interesting one to watch, but i wouldnt write it off if:
a/ It is a cheap option for bulk disposal
&
b/ Envirinmentally, it is the least worse option compared to the risk of dumping the crap in an inland area which may have the potential to impact on local aquifers down tbe track.
At the end of the day, once its tipped into those pools, it cannot be removed if subsequently it is discovered that pass is poluting the aquifers that communities from Nagambie to the Murray, draw water from..
Just putting it out there..
