    Yes this will affect revenue in the short term.

    In terms of EFTPOS transactions, am I the only one that sees this drop to 5% as a positive for Cabcharge? I mean given the mandatory requirement for a taxi to have a Cabcharge terminal therefore making current EFTPOS competitors needing to install an extra terminal - paying 1 to 3 per cent in merchants fees, paying for overheads, employees and other business running costs, the 5% leaves nothing for commissions to drivers or a reasonable profit for said competitors. You need a large company that can take advantage of economies of scale to survive and profit from this 5% reduction.

    In simple words good bye competitors.

    Drivers are the ones who will feel the most pain. First technological change caused their tips to dwindle now this legislation comes in taking away their commissions.
