Thanks for your comments doctorwho2. I think all of us are agreed that Pla shares should have a higher value and your rough calculation supports this. It does however seem that platinum is out of favour at the moment for a variety of reasons and like the sharemarket gyrations some of those aren't rational. It's a shame that despite its value it isn't considered a store of wealth like gold. I too am out of pocket on PLA shares having held them for some years but keep hoping perhaps irrationally that because platinum is valuable a company that mines the stuff should be too!
