That's up to the customer to decide. They are getting a benefit.... A product now, and the ability to pay for it later. They just need to weigh that benefit against the cost of the benefit - unfortunately for a lot of people, they come up with the wrong answer. That is not the company's fault, the product providers fault, or our fault as investors. That said though, it is a shame that the average Australian is so financially illiterate.
