    Rural Australians get the same solar rebate as their city counterparts, the Fit (Feed In Tariff) however if that is what you are referring to is another matter that you negotiate with your suppliers, you can add battery storage and remain on the grid, then it's a matter of learning how to use your own supply to your best advantage and looking at how and when you use that power and methods of reducing consumption.
    Rural communities can achieve substantial reductions in cost of materials if they band together and create microgrids with battery storage but still remain connected to the grid, you then have the ability to draw on the grid during peak periods or conversely selling your excess power onto the grid if it's not required in a case like this it would be wise to build your system to supply 20% more power than you need, it's certainly worth bring up the idea with your town or community council.
    For rural councils it's also a great way to provide a benefit to the community who would have more money to spend and an opportunity to increase income to the council, i am really surprised rural communities are not crawling all over this.
