According to the information of Suomen Kuvalehti the managers and directors of the mine has known about the illegal waste dump. Year 2016 the management ordered to end the using of it.

The wastes are located between 66-85 meters, so the height of the waste mountain may be almost 20 meters. According to the proliminary estimate of police there could be several hundreds of cubic meters of the waste.
The mine roundup by the police and the prosecutor revealed, the there are beside the mine wastes also mixed wastes in the mine. There was among other things chairs and other household carbage.
More thoroughly the police has not examined the waste pile. The examination would require the use of massive mine machines. Suomen Kuvalehti has information, that tax authority has at least in summer 2018 examined the sales
of waste metal. It has been suspected at the mine that tens of tons scrap metal has been sold without
book keeping. It is unclear who had got the money from the sales.
Police has been informed already 2016. Currently police has not ongoing investigation in the matter.

The country manager of Dragon mining Ilpo Mäkinen confirms that there has been discrepancies, but that
the matter is in order now. "The company has paid its taxes, and on the company side the matter has been cleared
in all parts."
Suspected severe environmental crime will not commented by  Dragon Mining
according to Mäkinen, because of the ongoing police investigation.
