Well I will admit to being a Sinophile, pretty much, and I am probably a USA-phile too. But I dislike the Chinese Communist party, especially how they treat their people.
I also remember that Khrushchev once said the Soviet Union was going to bury the west, and people thought they might well achieve that with what we thought were amazing tech advancements, and a fast growing economy etc. Same sort of mirage as China presents today I suspect. I don't believe their system allows for much advancement of living standards, or IP generation, other than via theft. The main diff with the USSR is that the West was totally intolerant of them. China has somehow received some huge free kicks.
If the west stops being willing to partner with China, then China is back to being totally stuffed again IMO.
Anyway - my view on bluescope is only a one day thing. It really hasn't moved much today - only noise.
