Single Fin and Little Dove were on tap. I didn’t get to the beer fridge because I was sampling the tap beers on the day – and there were several to try. GRB was just one of the breweries being showcased on the day.
I made it along. The big hits of the day were ‘Single Fin’ and ‘Bouncy Castle’.
Bouncy Castle was the inflatable kind – the day attracted a lot families and micro-brews was not the only form of entertainment J
Single Fin - I’m more of a IPA drinker, so the beers on tap were my usually preferred style. Having said that, Single Fin tastes fantastic and I found myself returning to this beer half way thru the day. I think they still have it on tap and I will stop in there this evening to remind myself just how good it tastes. What surprised me about this beer is that it is fuller tasting than I assumed, and it travels well. It tasted fantastic on the day. It’s not one of those beers that has a single dominating flavour, like some beers would be described as ‘hoppy’ or ‘fruity’ etc. This beer was very well rounded and its characteristics were well balanced and complement one another.
Amongst my friends I did note that they preferred the Little Dove. You know this is true when someone takes their first sip and smiles, and holds the glass up in appreciation. I’ll try it again this evening to get a second opinion.
For those interested, this RSL club is keeping micro-brews on tap.
