BBX is interesting and has similarities to our friends in Melbourne - in fact there's a personal and professional relationship between BBX and our friends and I surmise that the "novel assay technique" may have a common origin. I have no opinion on BBX, other than I think the geos are kosher. The results? Dunno.

I don't have a problem with novel assay techniques, provided that confidence is clearly explained. There's been numerous entirely above-board, clearly explained modifications to various standard techniques made in specific chemical or geological circumstances.

However, when questioned on this sort of thing, I always refer to a paper published by the USGS some years ago that pointed out that of (from memory) seven (then recent) mining frauds on the NYSE, five involved "novel assay techniques" . . . As a scientist, I keep an open mind. I just insist on seeing sufficient data published to support assertions made. This is what the JORC Code is all about.
