I dont think for a second Saudi Arabia are in the economic position to crash anybody elses economy (apart from their own). In other words the Saudi's are all talk - however the USA may experience increased legal action if they start attempting to sue for past deeds.
In relation to its impact on macro oil (happy to be re-guided) but I dont think it will have a big impact in the short term.
Arguably if Saudi Arabia (SA) is sucessfully sued by the families of 9/11 it will place the country under further financial pressure but these types of class actions take many many years.
In other words - by the time 9/11 families win their class action (and if current low oil prices continued) SA would be bankrupt and unable to pay anyway.
This type of talk fits nicely into my previous study area of law and counter terrorism.

More along the lines of blowback to the US......successful legal action by IRAQ families for the illegal invasion and deaths of tens of thousands of family members alone would bankrupt the US.
