increase in bopd!
LONDON (Dow Jones)--Anzon Australia Limited, a 56.5% subsidiary of Anzon Energy Limited, said Thursday that it expects initial average production from the Basker and Manta oil fields (located in the Bass Strait offshore Australia), once the oil fields have been fully developed, to average approximately 25,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) in mid 2006 up from the 20,000 bopd previously announced. The increased rates are consistent with results of the tests conducted on the initial well drilled in the field, Basker-2, which also provided evidence for increasing the proved and probable reserves to the current level of 30.1 million barrels (up from 23.3 million barrels) as previously announced. Four additional wells will be drilled for the full field development. Continuous production of Basker-2 is anticipated to commence early next week.
