Macquarie wants more airport deals
Australia’s Macquarie Bank Ltd., which owns stakes in six airports including Sydney, Brussels and Copenhagen, is interested in making further acquisitions through its Macquarie Airports Fund, a London-based executive with the group said Tuesday. Division director John Stent said that in the long run, Brussels airport operator BIAC, in which Macquarie has a 70% stake, plans to shed its 11% stake in Belgian carrier SN Brussels, the successor to bankrupt airline Sabena. Macquarie Airports Fund, the world’s second largest airport owner and manager, also owns stakes in airports in Rome and Bristol and Birmingham, U.K. — Renee Cordes
