South Sudan is land locked, which probably is not a problem as gold is processed and flow out. But diesel fuel could be an added expense. The neighbouring countries could add tariffs to allow to use their ports etc.

North Sudan fronts the Red Sea, like Eritrea.

Surely Eritrea doesn't have conflict with other neighbouring countries, only Etheopia?

Anyway you are right CHN need the diversity.

If they choose Sudan North, do they have to start from scratch? Or do they take over an existing mining coy?

If they start from scratch and gain large tenements, would they then just whack $25 mil into massive exploration by multiplying all parts of exploration 5 fold? And hope on good fortune?

I reckon it would be better to have an advance gold reserve to start with, and work on both production of that, plus further exploration.

Anyway they will make a good call. North Sudan gets the thumbs up.
