Newport Capital will raise the cash at whatever is required, be it at .005c or 2c, they will get it. A fool and his money are easily parted.

As for what they have in assets, it would appear to be limited to infrastructure and this is IMHO a valuable asset to a company looking to enter the local VOIP market. The question is, what is the value of it. I suspect about $2-$3M at a completely unaudited guess?

Other assets they will have include a sales revenue stream that looks to be worth in the order of $3-$6M PA.

Overall, I would value Freshtel at about $4-$6M at a quick glance, excluding cash & any liabilities. Or about 2c per share.

At the end of the day, there is really nothing shareholders can do other than wait and see if the board and management see the situation for what it is and effect changes that bring about a positive change in directions. Either that or wait until their chickens come home to roost, maybe the work they have been doing will result in this? Who knows?
