Something else not well appreciated is that solid SA companies seem to have the skill of cementing themselves into local business networks - thereby gaining status in many subtle ways. Here is an example where Hills is participating in a new technology development hub with connections to government.

It suggest it facilitates getting the right support, incl institutional support when new business plans are rolling out (IMO).

I guess this happens everywhere to some extent - but SA is a very parochial business space, not unlike WA.

Doesn't guarantee anything but certainly adds to investment appeal for me.
