The closing of Kurnell and Cylde removes 28% of Australians refining capacity. Both will now be import facilities which opens up the danager of terrorist's targeting tankers heading our way. Imagine if the our fuel supply was stopped for two weeks, we would be screwed. The government should have chipped in and updated Kurnell to allow for it to produce higher grade fuels which are more in demand and profitable. We think we are clever importing cheaper fuel from our Asian neighbours, the image below shows how they now have us by the balls.
