Oil Discoveries through reclassified data

Just doing a bit more research on lacustrine source rock for oil and gas etc. Particularly  how this was previously not widely considered as having significant oil generating potential.

Found the below interesting for those who would like some light reading for further research:

2002 article on the Suriname Basin near Guyana. State owned mob grabbed some data and reviewed it back in 2001. Looks like a similar scenario, lacustrine previously not considered too exciting etc

Years later, the basins in Guyana/Suriname are attracting huge investment still (Exxon etc) with more and more discoveries ongoing - A new frontier so to speak.

I just found this all interesting reading so thought I would post. Oil and Gas isn't my specialty so this may be basic knowledge and boring to some! Obviously a lot of water to go under the bridge for IVZ but pretty exciting potential.
