For every bit of "data" talking up extreme weather events now that didn't use to happen, I can find opposing data. Which data is right?

Well that's easy. The consensus data. The data backed by thousands and thousands of peoples research. Predictions are bound to fail by there very nature but the data is not lying. If you want to link me to all the data (BTW I don't mean that right wing 'news' site you seem to think has some scientific authority) that shows AGW not occurring I will be happy to have a read. I really doubt you've ever bothered to read the data that supports AGW because if you had I can't fathom I would be having this debate with you.
