You got in before me !

Yep, the Y2K threat was all about business computer systems. If you had accounting software on a PC at home and didnt upgrade, you could start again in the year 1900 if you wanted !   But when all the multinational/govt systems starting crashing at the same time, all hell breaks loose. Panic in the streets. Or would have. 

Some people thought other things were going to happen like missiles being accidently launched and planes falling out of the sky.  

Lots of hysterical things said and mostly by people that like a good drama to liven up there day.  And conspiracy theorists. 

But it was only transaction processing. Alot of transaction processing. And transactions are money and money makes the world go round.
