Would you finance a deal in Tanzania ... not just KNLs but anyone’s mine, without the small issue of 16% free carry to their Government being resolved or at least fully clarified and understood? No. Ok then is it fair to say if we are expecting KfW funding shortly then we would also expect prior to that complete clarification on this not so small aspect of the legislation. Oh and approval for KNL to use a foreign bank to fund Epanko... we got a ML extension not approval to go around the local content requirements of the legislation.
Just saying .... a lot of blanks still with Tanzania ... for every miner there. I rather hope the EcoGraf plant funding which would void the need for Epanko, comes first. It might help negotiations if Tanzania knew we had funding for plants around the world that remove the reliance on any particular source of graphite.... making Tanz graphite obsolete if they don’t get their act together quickly
Interesting few weeks ahead
