Yes, lots of coal. But wouldn't a flagship project get a little more press and work done to it than what is happening at the moment, there’s been a few presentations where Oaklands seems to be included as an afterthought (listed reserve and that’s about all). I for one am not caught up in the grandiose of this project as I don’t foresee it’ll ever get off the ground soon (next 15 years at least, it’s already been shelved since 2009, so there’s three already!). The hydrology of this saline basin needs to be understood, not just the immediate area surrounding the EL but the entire aquifer that exists there. They are not doing that, they are talking about an idea and feasibility of coal to liquids, not the mineability of the area! I’m sorry, but I truly believe that Oaklands will remain a very well played card by CWK management at a time when it was most required – post GFC1. It’s now up to them how they handle the real projects, but I believe that they are not any match for a Tinkler team led assault and that’s the jostling we’re seeing at the moment.
