Isn't it obvious that if some lunatic wants to go on a shooting rampage, they will kill less people with with a non-automatic weapon? It won't reduce the incidents, but it will reduce the death toll. Now, I know that some people will still be able to obtain these weapons via illegal means, but suitable changes to the law reduces access to them, hence lowering the risk of mass shootings.
What has gun ownership done for the USA? One of the highest gun murder rates in the world and a mass shooting on average every fortnight. Yeah, way to go.
