Clearly the world will continue to have ructions and religious wars will feature greatly in Europe and the middle East, but regarding Australia IMO long term we will become more Asian as a people.

Atrocities will continue but as China enlarges it's sphere of influence Islam is the least of our problems.

I have no doubt Australia will be a province of China within a century and depending on how issues such as climate change play out we will be a relatively stable country speaking Chinglish as out primary language.

But as you say that will be for future generations to sort out or endure.
