Sorry, must have been hanging around Lynas fanbois too much because I just plucked a number out of thin air.
Not sure why would you say the plant won't be worth a lot after 3 years, I'm sure its designed to run for 20+ years and being built so far away from the sea it should be good for 2-3 times that much.
Why don't you apply the formula used to calculate Lynas value and tell us what would that come up to.
My rough calcs based on a BUY sentiment for Lynas at current prices, Lynas AUD$360Million of debt left (after todays conversion at 46% of market SP) , 5 years worth of plant depreciation , running at a loss ever since the plant was built and current market cap of AUD$1.2 Billion the formula would imply the value of NTU at around 6.5x Lynas market cap or just $7.8Billion which would put the value of each NTU share at $8.66
That sounds overly optimistic even for me, at least in the short term until they extend the plant, so being modest would be happy with just a 50c party. I know that you Goofy and ausheads are the experts when it comes to NTU and REs in general but are you sure your valuation formula is correct ? Because if you are right its GREAT news for all NTU holders. LOL
