before I continue, this is a good discussion, not an argument.

My understanding of the new smart home devices is that in the next couple of years we will see every new home appliance have a 'smart feature' enabled into it which basically means it is connected.

RYG's Xped interface utilises this ''connected feature'' in its software, which will allow you to actually control connected devices from the one unit.

POK's Buddy technology rather says ''hang on, your smart devices can transmit data, our algorithms can actually interpret and simplify the data, so that you can learn more about your consumers''

Basically Honeywell and Saeco would be a client of Buddy's as Buddy takes their devices and interprets it for them. These appliance companies I don't think would be a potential client of Xped, as from what I understand Xped just takes their features and allows households to control them from one connection point. It would be retailers that would be clients of Xped , people who want to be able to have this cool feature for their homes.

it is also important to note that Buddy's reach extends far beyond the home appliance area - The US governments, Census collection agencies, basically anybody who needs data to be collected and simplified would be a potential client of Buddy's

(I could be wrong in my interpretation of the differences between them so please feel free to correct me and add to the discussion).
