NCCC, "directors dont know whats in the core."

Well they certainly should. All they had to do was get a half competant geologist to have a good up close look and ask them!! The crystaline structure of spodumene looks very different to quartz or feldspar or whatever else.
The original "competent person" said the core had........

"The lithium baring minerals identified to date are spodumene and accessory lepidolite."

If the competent person can identify the minerals in the core, then they also would have known how much was in the core. To get 2% spodumene then 1/4 of that core had to be spodumene. If there were only traces then they should have stated it.
The company would have known what was in these cores spodumene wise.
