I believe lower gravity means deeper resource (from my understanding - DYOR). This would obviously incur greater cost in mining it. It could also mean that the cost of production could be seen as too much, and the project abandoned. Or, the Japanese will go "OMG REE!" and invest in the project at whatever cost.

Provided there is actually REE in Mt Barrett, I'm happy. If there isn't...well...DMN better come up with some mighty great replacement for Facebook.
