Actually a lot to do with ERG. ERG supplies current ticketing and hardware.
These cashless buses are all equipped with T card contactless readers. They are currently hooded. These routes are ready for contactless and as we know public transport is the most likely place for contactless to start off. Contactless needs readers. The banks are being pushed to do contactless. Although it has been the CBA that has been suggested as the first Oz bank to begin a contactless rollout it is interesting that Westpac has also been mentioned. Westpac has off course a serious interest in ERG and i would suggest that even though its own Tcard trials have been plauged it is possible that we will see a Westpac/ERG issued Paypass/VisaPayWave contactless card very soon and before we see any other.
