I'm wondering if this rise could be due additionally to the Uley Graphite Project.
They've got 25% free carry on a project that will be producing 83,300 tonnes of "high purity flake graphite".
This isn't a bad mineral to be producing given that its used in steelmaking (i.e. downstream application of Iron Ore) and that they have one of the highest purity graphite deposits in the world IIRC from a report I found on the website.
Whats the cost of high purity flake graphite per tonne?
From http://www.worldwidegraphite.com/property.htm it appears they get $US 2500/tonne. I think graphite prices are also increasing as a side effect of IO hike.
Lets say at $US 2500/tonne
EBR revenue is 20825 tonnes X 2500 = $US52mil p.a.
Hmm... this should be investigated.
My questions 1. How soon to production? 2. WHat price are they getting per graphite tonne? 3. Whats the cost per graphite tonne?
I think I'll have to chat to the MD soon.
