I was thinking this 'arv that there is more to this than meets the eye.

To me, it seems like it might be a shrewd strategic ploy to give them more penetration in the energy game.

I'm not sure, and am only guessing, but maybe it is to give them a more global presence (read European) which may then assist in getting some action happening a bit quicker on the Italian assets?

These guys know the energy game backwards so I'm quite confident there is more to this than just buying a producing asset.
