There was a strong appeal nearly 3 years ago, and the board gave him not out!!
Instead of then saying "OK we got this wrong and lets get back on the correct path", Mercer and his team have spent the last 3 years trying to plug the holes to try and redeem themselves from what they had done or tried to do. This was done in their own interests, not the companies. It failed, at everyone's expense, and all those who gave them unbridled support at all the calls of foul play can accept a little of situation responsibility.
That not only includes the board and management/personal at the company, but those who hugged and protected Mercer as a Hero who could do no wrong. And you know who you are!!!
