For delivery next week, the prices for Norwegian salmon seem to be going up sharply.
According to Norwegian sources speaking to Reuters, the average price for Norwegian farmed salmon is expected to be NOK 69-70 per kilogram next week, due to lower production.
This is an increase of around NOK 4-5/kg week-on-week, sources told the newswire. Last week, priceshad come down.
One source said last week’s export volume was some 20% lower than the same week in 2015 and volumes are expected to be low for the next few weeks.
This week, large farmers such as Leroy Seafood Group and Grieg Seafood have all dropped their volume guidance for 2016.
Leroy, which missed analysts’ earnings estimates for the third quarter, due to the impact of sea lice on production, cut its volume forecast for 2016 to 152,000 metric tons, a reduction of 5%.
