"The 10-megawatt project is expected to be operational by October 2018, with the Solar Farm generating enough power for 3,000 households over the next 25 years."

Would anyone like to hazard a guess on what cut CCE will receive from this project?

Calculations would need to take into account the joint ventures with Lendlease and the indigenous corporations that CCE have signed up to.  As well, there will be income from large scale generation certificates.

The unknown, is how much having a merchant agreement will impact on income as opposed to a power purchase agreement.

I think the main benefits to CCE out of this project are in establishing the joint venture as one that can ramp up to bigger projects and the establishment of the partnership with the indigenous corporations.

The biggest holdup to the commencement of this project was red tape, the official sod turning ceremony means that those hurdles have been cleared.

If this one goes through without a hitch, it should ensure the same partnership will be doing more of the same.

Of all the projects CCE are doing, this one seems less complex than the others, (ie grid connected, solar array only, adjacent to township).

Going by the job advertisements, pile drilling should be underway now.  Unless something unforeseen should crop up, the October deadline should be achieved.

The lessons learned during the leadup to this project should smooth the way for the future.
