re: no peace pipe yellowcake
Hiya Pete. Crops aren't looking too bad but always have to remind myself that they are anywhere from 4-6 weeks behind where they should be. They were sown late. And for a lot of the time weren't growing in May, June and some of July because they wasn't surplus soil moisture to fuel anything more than survival mode.
It will be a tight finish. I am confident for my barley but not so confident for the later sown wheats. Yields will definately be down. We have a 27 degree days with strong drying winds from the NW forecast for today and tomorrow. Tomorrow's temp before the front is forecast at 30 degrees. As you well know that is pretty warm for crops trying to set yield.
For the other posters watching for technical signals to buy, just remember this. Very few farmers (still the majority shareholders) have no clue about 'technicals'. And given the apathy that is now firmly setting into farmers with regards to the AWB, and rallies will be used as dumping opportunities. Everyone is p#ssed these mongrels are using equity out of the 05-06 pool to fund the current debacle they face. And on that note, the smart farmers (ie the bigger ones) will be avoiding this year's pool like the bubonic plague for fear of the same equity pilfering occurring again. Shame on the government for not clearing this mess up before this year's harvest. Absolute bl##dy disgrace!!!
