Plus the trenching results at Brasil are nothing to sneeze at either. (yes, I realise they're only trenching, but--)
"Perth, Australia: March 1 8th, 2015 – The Directors of Minera Gold Ltd (“Minera Gold” or the “Company”)
(ASX:MIZ) are pleased to announce the results of detailed geological mapping and channel sampling recently
completed at the Brasil copper mine, located in close proximity to the Company’s 100% San Santiago processing
plant in Southern Peru.
The best channel sample results reported to date are as follows:
0.32m grading 25.11% Cu, 4.16 g/t Au and 16.4 g/t Ag
0.40m grading 22.84% Cu, 4.04 g/t Au and 45.0 g/t Ag
0.67m grading 19.39% Cu, 4.68 g/t Au and 9.6 g/t Ag
0.57m grading 18.09% Cu, 4.36 g/t Au and 35.1 g/t Ag
1.60m grading 16.26% Cu, 8.83 g/t Au and 9.8 g/t Ag
0.40m grading 14.41% Cu, 2.24 g/t Au and 73.5 g/t Ag
1.53m grading 10.42% Cu 1.89 g/t Au and 12.2 g/t Ag
0.65m grading 9.89% Cu, 2.89 g/t Au and 21.0 g/t Ag
Importantly, out of 28 channel samples assays received to date:
18 samples returned values > 5% Cu (64% of the samples).
1 3 samples returned values > 2 g/t Au (46% of the samples)
1 5 samples returned values > 7 g/t Ag (53% of the samples)
The highest grades were found in the transitional mixed zone where supergene and hypogene mineralisation
occurs, as well as in the transitional from the mixed zone to the hypogene zone. Nevertheless, assays from
hypogene zone have returned values between 5.29% and 8.45% Cu.
It should be noted that the Brasil vein I has only been developed along a strike length of approximately 220 m in
Level 1. However it is quite likely that the vein continues for another 200 m or more to the northwest, since the
shaft that is been sunk in neighbouring La Españolita Mine within the concession is following the same vein, and it
is open at depth.
Mr Ashley Pattison, Managing Director of Minera Gold, commented “these results highlight the fantastic
prospectivity of the Brasil vein I and the additional known vein systems present in the wider Brasil concession.
Extensive mapping and sampling of the remaining veins is to be followed up by geophysical studies over the veins
that are needed to define drilling targets. We are planning, based on finance to drill those targets the coming
months.”
