1 To absolve Bruce entirely from 76 is absurd.. he was wearing the hat and made the final calls
2 This is new territory and there is no blueprint or manual to follow to say how it is done.In this type of business the man who never made a mistake never made anything else either
3 Sticking with 77 what is it that could have been done differently and what would you have done with the facts to hand at the time
Tactically you would think the majority of operational decisions would be made on the call of Schlumberger and he would go with their call.Possible exception(and maybe they advised it anyway we dont know) would be the removal of the CT
Strategically which is Rons domain I think we have done well operationally.A steady methodical approach is the right strategy in a minefield of unknowns Try and think of all possible things that could have gone wrong and didn't or were nipped in the bud and you might have a different perspective
4 Away from operations there are things I would have liked done differently Dilution is my major concern as I feel some of it could have been avoided and shareholders should be given the first bite at any placement below market value But i am aware I don't have the full spectrum of information those decisions were made upon
I also feel that communications at sensitive times need to be more frequent and comprehensive and explanatory for those of us that don't fully understand the game.But at the end of the day his main job is not a communications officer like some cricket commentator but rather the captain on the field doing everything possible to ensure a good result is attained
5 So it would be good if people like you who know much more about the game than people like me advised what the bad decisions are (given the information available at the time) and what the better alternatives may be.
Just saying 76 and 77 are both disasters and its all Rons fault doesn't cut the ice with me im afraid
If you had said something like the "perfs have all clogged up and often they will just do the same again after cleaning therefore 77 is a disaster " I would sit up and say "this guy knows more than me maybe I should check this out"
As you havent done so I feel your credibility is reduced
It is a pity because I feel you have both industry experience and technical expertise the two most important things that can offered to a forum like this(other than some good old insider information)
Glad to see you are doing well with your new shares and hope they produce some better stomach juices for you than these ones did.
