Global warming is not on the average agenda because there are other issues requiring their urgent attention. Try telling a starving African to stop consumption - of what - grass? How about an Aussie trying to keep his job due to a shrinking economy and impending GFC? Perhaps a Syrian ducking from our bombs. Some retiree with a property portfolio which is negative geared sitting waiting to see if BS will send him broke or lose some income due to franking credit changes. How about a woman that has to traverse Melbourne CBD at night, or who gets walloped by here loving partner, for the hell of it. Unless we fix these problems then climate change will be put on the back burner for a lot of people. The boy that cried wolf is as relevant today as it was when written. With one scientist shouting over another and Governments using climate change as a political weapon and business profiteering from it, we see the rich getting richer, etc.and people just switch off. Its ironic that the Socialist left who are the main stream voices of climate change are also the greatest voice for the free movement of people - who consume less at their place of birth - to places such as Australia and Europe where they can consume more. They want greater distribution of money and Government handouts, which people will use to consume more. Government want us to grow in numbers via immigration and consume more so they get more tax and then want to tax us some more to pay for climate change.... The religious zealots want bigger families and no contraception to maintain their flock, anti abortionists want more babies, socialist government policies and handouts encourage the poorer to have bigger families. Coal power is portrayed as evil, yet if the people complaining on their phones and Internet about coal power used less electricity we wouldn't need it. Electric vehicle's and phones use lithium batteries. Where are we going to dump the tons of spent lithium batteries? Probably in the landfill we didn't want to fill with plastic bags. AAA Batteries are produced in the millions, yet not a peep about what happened to the discarded ones. No plastic bags thanks, but carry on with the plastic wrappers, bottles, pens, etc. People will not take it seriously until the government bodies halt the hysteria and hypocrisy. NB: approx 10% of the WORLDS electricity (approx 22500TWh) is used to power pumps which are largely unregulated. Changing to more efficient ones would save approx 4% or 900TWh or Japans annual usage or close to Germany and France combined.

Some of the warming zealots are such bullies. My own relatives, who don't have native trees, solar PV array and hot water; who don't grow their own fruit, veges, preserve fruit and bake bread. They live in the city and gave us a mouth of abuse for owning coal shares. Surely it's OK to not believe and think there is an awful lot of bulltish in their arguments. Posters here claim we are emitting Co2. Just cannot be. The planet is a closed system. The only carbon here condensed from the magma and gas cloud billions of years ago. No more, no less.
