    I would have thought Werribee market gardeners are getting priced out of vegetable growing due to land values.

    Also the recycled water in use from the sewerage farm around Werribee is steadily adding salt to the heavy soils and that can't be good long term given there is less rain to wash away residual salt.

    The BOM suggests Gippsland will get drier due to climate changes but a positive is that north east of Tasmania is expected to get wetter and they are expanding their horticulture.

    Also: Looking back it would have been much cheaper to build an underwater pipeline to transport fresh water from Tasmania to Vic instead of the Desal Plant that like the CityLink road tolls will bleed us for ever!
