IMO could be "pump & dump" due to tax reasons. If (only if) MYA calls in administrators, it will take a few years before declaring shares are worthless & write-off capital gains in other investments with this massive capital loss.
If you sell to yourself at massive loss, you created capital loss for this financial year tax write-offs & you reduce capital gain tax straight away instead waiting few years.
eg bought at $0.20, sell at $0.05 to yourself (or to your friends, friends do the same for you) & get $0.15/share capital loss (offset capital gains straight away). Hold stock at $0.05 till into administration, wait for a few years then write-off the remaining... $0.05/share once declared shares are worthless by administrators.
Could also be short-sellers are closing short positions by buying back stocks, but doubt many short-sellers even heard this company.
