A good post rusty. You are right, the economics of solar and wind power don't stack up. Even from a carbon footprint perspective, which is actually in reality extremely hard to measure accurately, it is questionable whether those forms of power are advantageous. Coal will be used for a long, long time. Gas may take some market share over the next couple of years. I did a top up of nhc this week. I see it as a much safer bet than whc, but then whc is trading at a substantial discount. nhc will have roughly zero debt with Bengalla up and running, and from what I can determine Bengalla is a lower cost operation than whc's operation, which is highly leveraged. I think we are fairly close to the turning point for coal, it has been a struggling sector for a couple of years now, and we are in the capitulation phase with big miners like Peabody and Anglo mothballing mines over the next couple of years.
