Alright I’ve had a squiz through the ACCC retail electricity pricing inquiry final report and here is what I’ve learned – most of it is obvious.

Focus is on consumer clarity and benefit. This is done by standardising offers by retailers to reduce confusion, and identifying cost savings throughout the whole supply chain.

Using my handing Ctrl+F button, there is a section “15.7.3 Renters and those outside the traditional energy market”.
So basically, they are saying consumers under embedded networks have little rights, and little access to competitive prices. They are going to assess this through another process (not current ACCC report) to improve on this. This suggests that LPE's 'lock in contracts' will not be 'locked' any more and a customer can at their will install a new meter for retail use at the customers cost. Doesn't sound make sense once you already have the LPE hardware. . .

So I guess the questions: Is LPE prices actually competitive with retail when it comes to customers? Or is this just an under the table handshake with strata managers.

Im currently leaning towards the former, unless proven otherwise.
