With a class action law suit hanging over their heads for non disclosure last year - I feel we can probably trust this news. An easier way to handle it would be to say 'we don't comment on market speculation or rumour'. By denying the rumour it would seem likley that they will not pursue an issue at the moment.
A better solution to a rights issue would be a placement at a premium to a major shareholder. If any institutions out there truly believe in this company and its future, issuing new shares through a placement at a slight premium would put a rocket under the stock. Just need to find a buyer now
